Equipment

Experimental Equipment

Our experimental equipment for teaching and research contains:

  • Soil mositure probe (profile)
  • profil probes for sediments
  • Automatic samplers (ISCO)
  • Spektrometer probes (s::can)
  • Field photometer
  • EC-probes
  • (CTD-)Divers
  • Weather station / Hellmann rainfall gauge

Hardware und Software

For model calibration and uncertainty analysis, we are equipped with four multi-CPU computers with a total of 64 CPUs.

Students can obtain one of five computer workstations at the department for their theses.

We prefer to work with open source software or other free software like QGis or R, but we also use commercial systems (e.g. ArcGis, Sigmaplot).

Laboratory for Urban Water Management and Water Quality

In the Laboratory for Urban Water Management and Water Quality mainly wet chemical investigations are carried out in addition to smaller test plants:

  • Stable water isotopes (Piccaro)
  • Physico-chemcial parameters
  • Nutrients
  • Major Ions
  • Heavy metals

Research Institute and Testing Laboratory for Environmental Engineering and Hydraulic Engineering

The Research Institute and Testing Laboratory for Environmental Engineering and Hydraulic Engineering (VPUW) supports us in the construction and operation of technical equipment and measurement technology. It also provides lab test facilities. The extensive equipment of the VPUW in the field of hydrometry can also be used.
