Farewell lecture by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ekkehard Fehling

On July 4, 2025, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ekkehard Fehling, who retired from active service on April 1, gave his farewell lecture in front of an audience of over 100 people in the Gießhaus at the University of Kassel. After a witty introduction by the Vice Dean of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Prof. Dr. Bernhard Middendorf, Prof. Fehling gave an overview of the main areas of his almost 30 years as head of the Department of Solid Construction at the University of Kassel, illustrated with numerous practical examples from research. Excursions into the consumption of ice cream cones and excursions by sports boat were also included. Afterwards, the numerous guests from science and engineering practice, some of whom had traveled from far and wide, had the opportunity to enjoy food and drink around the Gießhaus in the best weather.
