Fine Mobility Project presents infrastructure planning approaches to promote fine mobility.

At this year's Eurobike trade fair in Frankfurt, Sophie Kahnt and Jori Milbradt presented the reason, measures and consequences of an infrastructure planning to promote fine mobility as part of the session "The bicycle and its neighbors: ecosystem fine mobility" conducted by Konrad Otto-Zimmermann. In view of an increasing heterogeneity of vehicles below the passenger car segment and the simultaneously increasing number of large passenger cars (especially SUVs and off-road vehicles), the need and the advantages of thinking of bicycles and other fine mobility together were justified. Based on this, appropriate infrastructure adaptations, such as the redesignation of motor vehicle lanes to "fine mobility lanes" in multi-lane roadways and the designation of size-differentiated parking stalls, were explained.
