2025 | August | Participation of Prof. Dr. Middendorf and Dr.-Ing. Salah Uddin at the 79th RILEM Annual Week & ICONS 2025 International Conference on Advances in Engineering and Technology for Sustainable Development, in Hanoi, Vietnam

The RILEM Annual Week is one of the world's most renowned scientific events in the field of civil engineering materials and aims in particular to promote international exchange. This year, the ^79th RILEM Annual Week was organized by the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering in Hanoi, Vietnam, and was attended by scientists from over 50 nations who actively exchanged knowledge through lectures, poster presentations and discussions during the breaks and evening events. The focus was on sustainable and durable building materials, promoting the circular economy and improving energy efficiency, quality and building comfort.

Prof. Dr. Middendorf and Dr.-Ing. Salah Uddin from the Materials in Construction and Construction Chemistry working group at the University of Kassel actively participated in this year's ^79th RILEM Annual Week. Dr.-Ing. Salah Uddin presented selected research results from the DFG-funded project CEMBRIDGE 2, which was carried out jointly with the working group of the Institute for Materials in Civil Engineering at TU Darmstadt (Prof. Dr. Koenders). CEMBRIDGE 2. The topic of his presentation was: Mechanistic insight of C-S-H nucleation during early hydration of cement from atomistic simulation.
