Several student assistants (m/f/d) wanted

The Department of Transport Planning and Transport Systems (Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering) is looking for several student assistants to work on the research project "Modeling the transport demand of day visitors and vacation travelers in large cities II".

The main work content is the implementation of guest surveys at selected tourist locations in the city of Kassel (e.g. Herkules, Orangerie, Bergpark). The working hours include in particular Fridays / Saturdays as well as public holidays and, if necessary, bridge days from May up to and including August.

We expect a high degree of reliability, enjoy communicating with other people and have a good command of German. English language skills are advantageous.

The position is expected to be temporary from 01.04.2026 to 31.08.2026. The salary is in line with the University of Kassel's requirements and amounts to € 14.20 per hour without a first professional qualification or € 15.26 per hour with a first professional qualification.

An internal training course will be held in April to prepare for the position.

The position also offers the opportunity to gain insights into empirical research at the interface of transportation and tourism sciences. There is also the possibility of writing a project-related thesis at the department.
