Young Researchers Seminar on Sustainable Material Cycles: Two days filled with inspiring discussions
On September 3 and 4, 2026, our research group had the pleasure of welcoming approximately 25 early-career researchers working on various aspects of sustainable material cycles to Kassel.
From material flow analysis and recycling technologies to circular economy strategies, resource management, and life cycle assessment, the presentations and discussions highlighted both the challenges and potential solutions for the transition toward more circular material systems.
The open and constructive atmosphere was particularly enriching: numerous thought-provoking questions, lively discussions, new perspectives, and, of course, many interesting conversations outside of the presentations.

It was a great pleasure for us to bring this group of young researchers together in Kassel. We are already looking forward to the next edition of the YRS, which will be hosted by the ResourceLab at the University of Augsburg!
