Research Colloquium: dockSIM Research Code – Part 1: Macro Control and In-Program Processes

As part of the research colloquium for thesis students, doctoral and habilitation candidates, we cordially invite you to join us on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. in Room 3513, Mönchebergstr. 7. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jens Wackerfuß will give an introduction to the dockSIM research code developed by the Institute of Structural Analysis, titled

“dockSIM Research Code – Part 1: Macro Control and Internal Program Processes”

We look forward to seeing you there!

Abstract

The dockSIM research code has been under development and continuously refined by the Institute of Structural Analysis for more than 15 years. The overarching goal of the code is to provide a flexible simulation platform that enables the implementation, testing, and investigation of new and innovative numerical methods for solving engineering problems with relatively little effort.

The presentation focuses on user-side control of the calculation process through the execution of macro commands. In addition to the possibilities of macro control, the presentation will specifically examine the internal program operations triggered by these commands and their sequential execution within the program code.

The presentation is aimed specifically at attendees who already have experience using and/or implementing dockSIM.
