Field tests standard
The laboratory of the Department of Geotechnical Engineering is equipped with devices that allow the following field tests to be carried out:
- Small-boreholes up to D = 80 mm
- Dynamic penetration tests (DPL, DPM, DPH)
- Density determination in the field
- Plate load tests (static and dynamic)
- Force and deformation measurements
Cyclic horizontal pile loading
In addition to the standard field tests, the laboratory is able to carry out cyclic horizontal pile test loads.
These tests have been successfully completed in various projects, including wind and earthquake simulations.
The press used for this purpose can generate compressive forces of up to 495 kN and tensile forces up to 291 kN.
The possible frequency depends on the system deformation. As a rule, however, 1 Hz is possible.
With stiff systems, higher frequencies can also be achieved.
