The Department of Construction Materials and Construction Chemistry organized a student excursion with the aim of gaining an insight into the latest developments in the concrete industry. The group, consisting of civil and environmental engineers and nanostructure scientists, visited the construction company Max Bögl at its site in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz. The company is involved in the implementation of major projects worldwide, including several stadiums, skyscrapers, bridges and test tracks for maglev trains. From October 12 to 13, students from the University of Kassel visited several production and training facilities, precast plants and mixing plants as well as a test track for a maglev train. This was accompanied by specialist presentations by employees of the company and staff from the University of Kassel.
