Conditions of participation in the survey for the project "Mobil zum Ziel - Leben in Bewegung"

Thank you for your interest in participating in this follow-up survey. You already took part in the first survey as part of the "Mobil zum Ziel" project a year ago. As announced, all people who took part then are now being invited to take part in this follow-up survey in order to record possible changes in mobility behavior. The following text should help you once again to understand the survey process and answer any questions you may have.

Why is the survey being carried out?

The mobility of many people is organized around their own car. We are also interested in the influence of a possible new car purchase on people's mobility. This data helps us to better understand people's mobility. This is being done as part of a scientific research project. In contrast to last time, the survey is only about your own mobility; the other members of your household are NOT surveyed.

Who is conducting the survey?

The Department of Transport Planning and Transport Systems at the University of Kassel is conducting the survey. We are supported by two subcontractors: O.trend is responsible for implementing the questionnaire and MotionTag designed and implemented the app. Participants were invited via the panel of the market research institute CINT and all related portals.

Who can take part in the survey?

All adults (i.e. 18 years or older) who have at least a class B driving license (i.e. for normal cars), live in Germany and live in a household with at least one car can take part in the survey. Each person may only complete the questionnaire once.

What do I get for my participation?

In addition to our sincere thanks, you will receive a small reward from your panel provider for completing the questionnaire.

If you have used the "Mobil zum Ziel" app for 10 days to record your journeys and activities (see section "How does the survey work?" below), you will receive an additional €20. This €20 can be paid out to you via PayPal or as an Amazon voucher.

How does the survey work?

You first answer a questionnaire online.

• If you used the "Mobil zum Ziel" app to record your journeys during the survey a year ago, we ask you to do this again. Download this app again from the Appstore (Apple or Google) and register once (unless you still have the app on your smartphone from last year). As a reminder: the app automatically notes your routes and activities and you only need to check them.
• If, on the other hand, you entered your journey information for yesterday directly in the questionnaire during the survey a year ago, please do the same this time.

The questionnaire will automatically offer you only the relevant option, so all you have to do is follow the instructions.
