From Kassel to Da Nang: The Mobility Lab at the ISCTSC

The theme of this year's conference was "Covering Blind Spots of the Transport Datascape in Times of Turbulance".

The conference is characterized in particular by its interactive character, as participants are encouraged to engage in intensive exchange and exciting discussions on the topic of "data collection" in several workshops.

The department was represented with a total of five different contributions:

• Tracking application versus travel diary: analysis of the method effects (Lea Fouckhardt),
• The methodology behind rebound effects after acquiring more energy efficient cars - a quasi-experimental, mixed methods study with different survey instruments (Lea Fouckhardt)
• When Real-World Experiments Fail: Methodological Lessons from Word-of-Mouth Marketing in Public Transport (Annika Lux)
• Surveying the travel behavior of city tourists - A concept for using a smartphone-based tracking app (Jonas Harz)
• How gender-sensitive are our data collections? Emphasizing the need for a new way of thinking in transport research (Johanna Koch)
