Dear colleagues, dear friends,
in 2004, the 1st International Symposium on UHPC was held at the University of Kassel. Since then, this forum has brought together national and international scientists and civil engineers from about 30 countries, including the USA, Japan, Korea, China and EU countries, at regular four-year intervals.
Over time, the range of topics has broadened, which is also reflected by renaming our symposium to HiPerMat in 2016: from the initial focus on the spectacular properties of ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC), with its high durability and compressive strength comparable to steel, to advances in materials science through the application of new methods and insights from the field of nanotechnology. We recognize the growing understanding of the environment impact that our ventures in structural engineering have on our world by bringing sustainability issues into sharper focus with the 6th HiPerMat. The international symposium will also feature contributions on the application of high-performance materials in sustainable concrete structures such as long-span bridges, filigree shells and high-rise buildings.
The 6th HiPerMat will be held in March 2024, and we would like to invite you and your colleagues to attend. We would also like to encourage you to present your own latest research results and application experiences in a talk. As usual, your submitted abstracts will be reviewed and commented by our esteemed scientific committee members. More information you will find here on www.hipermat.de.
The symposium is supported by the fédération internationale du béton (fib), Deutscher Ausschuss für Stahlbeton (DAfStb), the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and Verein Deutscher Zementwerke e.V. (VDZ).
We would be very pleased to welcome you at the University of Kassel to our symposium in 2024, March 6th - 8th.
