Welcome to INCHER Dr. Alberto Corsini and Prof. Dr. Michele Pezzoni

In April, we welcome two visiting researchers: Dr. Alberto Corsini (Madrid, Spain) and Prof. Dr. Michele Pezzoni (Paris, France). Both are involved in the project EmLHE (An Emerging European Labor Market in Higher Education).

Dr. Alberto Corsini will stay at INCHER from April 13th to April 24th, 2026. He is a Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Public Goods and Policies (IPP) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC; Madrid, Spain). As a postdoctoral researcher, he is involved in international projects investigating the education, careers, and scientific and inventive activities of STEM PhD graduates in Europe, as well as policies for European higher education systems. 

Dr. Michele Pezzoni will stay in Kassel from April 20th until April 24th, 2026. Heis Associate Professor at the Université Côte d'Azur, CNRS, GREDEG, France, and Observatoire des Sciences et Techniques, HCERES, Paris, France). His main research interests concern the economics of science and innovation. Currently, he is focusing on two subjects: (i) the study of the public funding of science and (ii) the study of PhD students’ productivity and careers. In this latter subject, Michele works with large datasets (millions of observations) and apply machine learning techniques to analyze the content of large corpora of documents, including patents, publications, and PhD theses.

On Wednesday, April 15, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., Dr. Alberto Corsini will present research findings at an INCHER research colloquium: “Structuring Doctoral Programs: More Control, Better Results?”.

Dr. Michele Pezzoni will present insights from recent research at the joint seminar with the IVWL Research Seminar on Economic Behavior and Governance on Wednesday, April 22,from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.: “Exploration in research teams: Building on the shoulders of PhD students”

 

Alberto and Michele are visiting INCHER to strenghten networks and further develop the EmLHE (An Emerging European Labor Market in Higher Education) project.
