František Bartoš from the University of Amsterdam, Department of Psychological Methods, Amsterdam, will give a presentation on the effect of artificial intelligence on learning. Artificial intelligence and large language models are believed to revolutionize education. This claim is seemingly supported by empirical evidence from dozens of meta-analyses reporting large and statistically significant average effects of AI/LLMs on learning outcomes. In this talk, I summarize evidence from 72 meta-analyses and challenge these findings.
