At the request of former CINSaT member Dr. Frank Hubenthal, a seminar event was organized for the first time for the students of the upper school of the Solling boarding school, with the participation of CINSaT members from the fields of physics and chemistry. The aim was to give the pupils an insight into the world of nanostructures from as many different angles as possible. For this purpose, quantum mechanical phenomena as well as the everyday contact with nanostructures were examined in more detail in the lectures of Prof. Singer and Prof. Fuhrmann-Lieker, respectively. The series of lectures was successfully concluded by Prof. Garcia, who introduced the students to ultra-fast phenomena such as material processing using tailor-made lasers.

To lighten up the atmosphere between the half-hour lectures, laboratory tours of the subject areas "Light-Matter Interaction", "Macromolecular Chemistry and Molecular Materials" and "Functional Thin Films & Physics with Synchrotron Radiation" were offered. As a conclusion, the students especially appreciated the friendliness and commitment of the staff during the lab tours, in addition to the exciting and interesting lectures. In the future, it is planned to continue the organization of seminar events for pupils and to intensify the contact to schools.
