Outstanding Achievements Honored at the Annual CINSaT Autumn Colloquium
At this year’s CINSaT Autumn Colloquium, five young researchers were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements and scientific contributions. Two prizes were awarded for the best theses, accompanied by three awards for exceptional poster presentations.
In the category of Best Thesis in Natural Sciences, Jana Dietrich (AG Matzdorf) received top honors for her final thesis titled “Untersuchung der Selbstassemblierung prochiraler Moleküle auf der Au(111) Oberfläche zur Synthese zweidimensionaler metallorganischer Netzwerke.” Her success continued as she also secured 1st place in the Poster Award with her contribution “On-Surface Synthesis of a 2D Enantiomerically Disordered Crystal via Geometric Frustration and Chiral Building Blocks.”
The award for Best Thesis in Engineering Sciences was presented to Mick Trachsel (AG Hillmer) for his thesis “Analysis of Optical Properties of Single and Multi-Layered Anti-Reflective Coatings for MEMS Micromirror-Based Reflective Displays using a Self-Developed Spectral Simulation Software.” His work was praised for its innovative approach and technical depth.
In the Poster Awards, Sina Dörr (AG Backes) earned 2nd place with her poster “Chemical Surface Modification of MoS₂ for 2D-Material Based Raindrop Triboelectric Nanogenerators.”Nikolai Weidt (AG Ehresmann) achieved 3rd place for his poster “Machine Learning-based Real-Time Tracking of Magnetic Microparticles for Lab-on-a-Chip Applications.”
CINSaT congratulates all award recipients for their remarkable work and extends its appreciation to all participants of this year’s colloquium. Their dedication and creativity continue to drive scientific progress within the center and beyond.
