Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ludger Schmidt
Ludger Schmidt has been a member of the ITeG research centre – the Research Centre for Information Systems Design (ITeG) since October 2014 – at the University of Kassel since 2008. Professor Schmidt is head of the Human-Machine Systems Engineering department, which is part of the Institute of Ergonomics and Process Management in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
In order to develop usable systems, we use usability engineering methods and systems engineering analysis, design and evaluation processes with user participation. The focus is on human modelling and simulation, human-technology interaction as well as working and learning.
The Department of Human-Machine Systems Engineering takes an interdisciplinary approach to research and teaching, focussing on the user-oriented design of effective and efficient human-machine systems. The aim is to optimise the interaction between humans and technical devices and systems.
