Prof. Dr. phil. Claude Draude
Prof. Dr Claude Draude has been a member of the Research Centre for Information Systems Design (ITeG) at the University of Kassel since 2017. Claude Draude is a founding member of the work group "Participation", section Human-Computer Interaction, at the German Informatics Society (GI e.V.) and, most prominently, has been appointed to serve as expert for the Third Gender Equality Report focusing on digital economies by the German government.
Digitization does not only shape technology, but also shapes the world. Our work contributes to a holistic view and aims at a democratic, participation-oriented and inclusive information technology design.
The Department of Participatory IT Design (PIT) is dedicated to making digitalization more socially just, inclusive and aligned with democratic values. We focus on the question of how societal participation is intertwined with the design of digital systems. PIT research and teaching agendas are highly interdisciplinary and mediate between computer science and the social sciences and humanities. We pursue a design-oriented approach that works with expertise from design studies, artistic practice and media studies.
