Prof. Dr. Hans Peter Kuhn

Hans Peter Kuhn is Professor of Educational Science / Empirical Educational Research at the University of Kassel. His research interests in the field of empirical school research include the development, quality, and effects of all-day schools; interdisciplinary competences of pupils, especially social and democratic competences; social disparities in educational success, especially at secondary level and at the transition from primary to secondary school; gender differences in educational success: boys as educational losers?; professionalization through practical phases in teacher training; school leadership skills. His main research interests in the field of youth research are political socialization and political identity formation in adolescence; gender differences in political identity formation; the importance of parents and peers in adolescence, particularly in the process of political socialization; media use; and political socialization.
