Evaluation of classes and courses

Excellent teaching standards and high educational quality are core targets of the University of Kassel. The primary goal of conducting course evaluations is to maintain and further develop teaching quality and studying conditions.

The evaluation of teaching and studies at the University of Kassel is conducted by the teaching staff and the departments. The Academic Affairs and Studies Department provides advice and support and makes available the results of the various evaluation activities of teachers and departments in accordance with the evaluations charter (Evaluationssatzung). It provides frameworks for exchange and innovation regarding the available evaluation tools and procedures.

At the University of Kassel, the evaluation of teaching and studies takes place at three levels:

  1. evaluation of classes, seminars, lectures etc.
  2. evaluation of the department / internal evaluation
  3. cross-university evaluation / external evaluation
