The International Summer University Kassel ist proud to offer you a selection of workshops which you can attend during your stay in Kassel. They all focus on practical aspects and will be held in English once every week in the afternoons (= 8h in total). One workshop is included in your fee.
Be a Director! Shoot a Video Documentary About ISU 2007
This workshop is all about do-it-yourself. Under the guidance of a video artist you will produce a short documentary about the International Summer University, its program, its students or whatever suits your concept.
Take your copy home and show your friends and family where you have been! The documentary will have its world premiere at the ISU closing reception.

German Cultural Traditions
Dive deep into the heart and soul of the German Traditions. Nothing captures the personality of a people better than the way they celebrate. Dancing and Eating!!! Come enjoy yourself in our Folk Dance and Culinary Workshop!! We will meet 4 times. Two evenings dedicated to learning traditional “Volkstanz,” and two evenings for cooking up some tasty German recipes and treats. A great souvenir to take home is always an amazing recipe that you can make over and over again for friends!!

Soccer/Football
Did you know that the Soccer World Cup games are the most watched sporting events in the world, even surpassing the Olympic Games? Did you know that Germany has won the World Cup three times? Or yet, do you have any clue what a corner kick is, or what makes a team off-sides? Would you like to find out the answers to these and many more questions?
Then the ISU has just the right workshop for you. We are proud to offer you our Soccer Workshop. Our workshop will combine classroom experience with outdoor activities. You will learn about the structure, rules, and cultural and social relevance of soccer and also you will get a chance to demonstrate and improve your soccer skills. With enough interest, we may even organize our own mini-World Cup!

Exploring the "documenta" Modern Art Heritage
Did you know that Kassel hosts the biggest and most prestigious exhibition of modern art worldwide? The Documenta takes place every 5 years, and 2007 is the next it takes place.
You will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition and retrospectives together with our professional art guide – in the oldest museum of the continent, the Fridericianum, for example.
In addition, you will explore the heritage of past exhibitions, traces of which can be found all over the city giving Kassel its unique and inspiring character.

If you want to receive 2 credit points for a workshop you will have to pay an
additional Euro 80 and hand in a paper.
