Apply for user certificates (HARICA)

To create a user certificate via Harica, first log in to the browser at
https://cm.harica.gr/login.

On the login page, select "Academic Login".

Select the University of Kassel from the list.

If it is not displayed immediately, you can search for it using the search bar.

You will now be redirected to log in with your UniAccount and the corresponding password.

After this step, you are logged in and can apply for a user certificate on the website.

As soon as you have completed the registration, you can select the "Email" button on the left-hand side of the dashboard under the "Certificate Request" tab.

In the next step, please select "Email-only" as the certificate type.

The other certificate types are currently not yet practicable or are subject to a charge.

By registering, your e-mail address is already pre-filled.

Now confirm your selection by clicking on "Next".

Now confirm the preset validation method by clicking on "Next".

Under the overview for the application, check the box for approval before clicking on "Submit".

Back in the dashboard, you will now see the certificate request, which must now be approved by one of the authorized persons in the ITS.

After the certificate has been approved, you will receive an e-mail from Harica.

Click the "Confirm" button again to confirm your e-mail address.

If the link does not open as desired, right-click on the "Confirm" button in the e-mail and select "Copy address of link" to be able to paste the link manually into the address bar of your browser.

Now click on "Enroll your Certificate" to start creating your certificate.

Now fill in the form shown:

• Select RSA as the encryption algorithm and 4096 as the key size
• Set a password and repeat it
• Check the box and confirm that you manage the password yourself

You will need the password you select here to integrate certificates in mail programs.
Make a note of your password if necessary and/or save it securely.

You can then click on "Enroll Certificate" to complete the process.

In the next window, you can now click on "Download" to download the certificate in .p12 file format. You will then find the file in your download folder.

You can then install the certificate on your end device.
