We would like to congratulate Dr.-Ing. Andreas Geisert on successfully defending his dissertation at the Department of Foundry Technology at the University of Kassel!

In his thesis entitled "Extended characterization of the recycling alloy AlSi9Cu3 to increase the mechanical properties in die casting", he investigated the influence of varying alloying elements and possible heat treatments on the mechanical properties of this important secondary alloy.

A special moment: Mr. Geisert was traditionally allowed to ring the bell - the sign of a successful disputation - and ceremoniously wear the doctoral hat.

We would like to thank him for his valuable contribution to research and wish him all the best for his future professional and scientific career!
