"Werk - Stoff - Idee": New exhibition at UNI:Lokal shows innovative materials research at the University of Kassel
Experience the materials of the future
The exhibition invites visitors to discover the world of materials research from a new perspective. On display are smart materials that generate electricity, pass on information or adapt to their environment. There is a particular focus on resource-saving recycling and innovative processing methods that make materials fit for the challenges of tomorrow.
Join in and discover
In addition to informative exhibits, the exhibition offers interactive hands-on stations where visitors can experiment for themselves. There is a special program for children and young people, including a Carrera track with smart materials and a digital detective game. School classes are welcome to explore the exhibition as part of guided tours and hands-on activities.
Accompanying program with short lectures and guided tours
A varied accompanying program complements the exhibition: In short lectures, scientists from the University of Kassel present their research, and guided tours provide insights into the creation of the exhibition. Particularly recommended are the coffee talks, in which current topics in materials research are presented in a compact 15-minute format.
We are there!
The Foundry Technology department is represented with its own exhibits and shows how modern casting technologies contribute to sustainable and intelligent material solutions. We look forward to exchanging ideas with visitors and colleagues at the coffee talk "Cast your Dreams - from the idea to the cast bicycle frame from the 3D sand printer" on Thursday, March 5, 5 pm.
