32nd Darmstadt Plastics Colloquium
On June 19, 2026, the Department of Plastics Engineering was represented at the 32nd Darmstadt Plastics Colloquium organized by the Forschungsgesellschaft Kunststoffe e. V. (FGK).
The event took place at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (Institute for Plastics Technology) and focused on the theme “Digitalization and AI-Based Methods Along the Value Chain.”
The technical presentations provided a comprehensive overview of current developments in digitalization and artificial intelligence in the plastics industry, ranging from research and development through compounding and product development to production.
In addition to the technical presentations, the colloquium also offered an opportunity for exchange with representatives from industry, research, and technology providers. The topics covered are directly linked to the current research and technology transfer projects of the Plastics Engineering Research Group, particularly the DUETT project, which focuses on the application of data-driven methods and AI in plastics processing.
