We are seeking a person whose artistic work is positioned squarely in the area of photography. This person should be able to demonstrate an internationally recognized and outstanding practice as an artist. His or her artistic and creative teaching should provide forward-thinking education for students within their studies in Visual Communication.
It is expected that the Candidates have a conceptually oriented approach to photography and the ability to teach photography in its entire breadth, that is, in its technological, medial, political, social, and theoretical dimensions. The teaching of creative and artistic visual competence should include contemporary and historical developments and be based on the currently changing wider contexts of images and their usage.
It is expected that the Candidates are also be able to deal with the challenges of teaching and researching at a Kunsthochschule today, with an interest in international dynamics and probing intellectuality–critically moving between the parameters of art, design, and market.
The position will require collaborating with other working areas in Visual Communication and other departments at the Kunsthochschule, as well as interacting with artistic-creative development plans.
Applicants must demonstrate their qualifications for teaching and hold appropriate teaching experience. Participation in academic self-administration is also expected.
