We are looking for a scientifically outstanding personality, repre-senting the field of “Marketing” and “Agricultural Market Theory” with a focus on products of organic agriculture in research and teaching and thus contributing to the consolidation of the profile of Organic Agricultural Sciences in the national and international context.

In research and teaching, current theoretical concepts and methods from agricultural and food marketing as well as consumer research are to be used and further developed in the context of organic agriculture. National and international (organic) agricultural and food markets, specifics and development potentials of organic markets as well as cultural challenges of agricultural and food marketing have to be investigated qualitatively and quantitatively applying empirical methods. This includes the consideration of the entire agricultural value chain. The willingness to participate in interdisciplinary cooperation is required.


The successful candidate has to be committed to the development and teaching of innovative modules for the two scientific disciplines “Marketing” and “Agricultural Market Theory” in the German-language BSc and MSc programs ”Ökologische Landwirtschaft” as well as in the English-language MSc programs “International Food Business and Consumer Studies”, “Sustainable Food System” and “Sustainable International Agriculture”.


Applicants must have a habilitation or habilitation-equivalent achievements with a focus on marketing or market theory or related fields of science as well as experience in teaching with proof of their didactic abilities. They must have an expertise in the fields of agricultural and food marketing and of consumer research in the context of organic agriculture proven by relevant, peer-reviewed publications and the successful acquisition of research funds. The publications also have to demonstrate the capability in conducting interdisciplinary research. Experience in knowledge transfer and policy advice is advantageous.


The employment and performance requirements apply pursuant to §§ 61, 62 of the Higher Education Act of Hessen (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz). The participation in the self-administration of the university is expected.
