We are looking for an excellent scientist with an internationally recognized research portfolio in computer algebra, preferably closely related to applications or differential equations. The successful candidate is expected to engage in interdisciplinary collaborations with colleagues from the natural sciences and/or from engineering. Experience in raising third-party funds is welcome.
The appointee will teach algebra and computer algebra across the entire spectrum of the discipline in all mathematics degree programs (Bachelor, Master, teacher education) and will contribute to service teaching in other curricula (engineering, natural sciences)
Cooperation in academic self-management is an obligatory integral part of the position to be filled.
The professorship is filled using the tenure-track procedure. The relevant statutes of the University of Kassel are decisive for the tenure-track procedure.
Profile of qualification:
The advertised position is subjects to the requirements set out in paragraphs §§ 61, 62, 64 of the Higher Education Act of Hessen (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz). The ability to teach in German is prerequisite for the application.
