We are looking for a scientifically outstanding (proven by peer-reviewed publications in high-impact Journals) and internationally visible personality from the field of theoretical atomic, molecular and quantum optical physics. A current research focus will be on the theory of the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with atoms and molecules.

 

The willingness for interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of natural sciences as well as the sucessful aquisition of third-party funds is obligatory.

 

We expect the sucessful candidate to be actively involved in the SFB 1319 „Extreme Light for the Analysis and Control of Molecular Chirality (ELCH)“ which was launched on January 1, 2018. Therefore, concrete project proposals matching the SFB in short form are requested with the submission of the application documents. There is also the possibility of participating in the research center CINSaT („Center for Interdisciplinary Nanostructure Science and Technology“) of the University of Kassel, in which working groups from physics, chemistry, biology and technical sciences collaborate.

 

The teaching duties include the usual courses in the Bachelor´s and Master´s degree courses in Physics as well as in the degree courses in Teaching Physics and Nanostructure Sciences (BSc/MSc).

 

Participation in academic self-administration is a matter of course.

 

The employment and performance requirements apply pursuant to §§ 61, 62 of the Higher Education Act of Hessen. In particular, the qualification for scientific work, as a rule proven by a habilitation or habilitation-equivalent achievements as well as pedagogical aptitude, is presupposed.
