The initial appointment will be for 6 years. After positive evaluation in the final year, there is the possibility that the candidate is tenured on a W 3 – Professor level.
We are looking for an outstanding candidate with an internationally recognized research portfolio in Molecular Plant Physiology to represent the subject in research and teaching. The successful candidate will have an established track record in a field of molecular plant physiology, for example in metabolic networks, cellular organelle biology, developmental physiology, intercellular communication, or cell signaling and plant hormones. The research approach should combine physiological, biochemical and molecular approaches, the application of plant model organisms would be preferred. He/she must be willing to teach plant physiology in full breadth.
Cooperative interactions with other groups within the institute for biology (www.uni-kassel.de/fb10/institute/biologie/startseite.html) and with key research areas (www.uni-kassel.de/fb11agrar/) and scientific centres, such as the Centre of Interdisciplinary Nanostructure Research and Technology (CINSaT) (www.uni-kassel.de/cinsat/) are expected. The succesful candidate will participate in the Faculty´s teaching programs in Biology and Nanostructure Science.
The participation in academic administrative duties are expected. Habilitation or an equivalent qualification including successful application of independent research grant funding are a precondition for applicants.
