First Kassel Science Talk on 16 October

‘From monitoring the environment to informing sustainability transitions: towards a knowledge paradigm fit for the 21st century.’ A new discussion series is launching with a talk by Dr. Hans Bruyninckx on climate change, use of resources and efficient communication thereof. Subsequently, the topic will be debated together with Prof. Dr. Reiner Finkeldey.

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is launching a new discussion series, which aims at bringing present scientific findings to the public. Highly ranked experts from government, industry and society will discuss with scientists the current challenges for the development of a sustainable future.  

The preluding event will be a talk by Dr. Hans Bruyninckx, executive director of the European Environment Agency, on the connection between climate change and use of resources as well as on how relevant information can be communicated successfully. It will be followed by a discussion with Prof. Dr. Reiner Finkeldey, president of the University of Kassel, hosted by Prof. Stefan Bringezu, director of the Center for Environmental Systems Research. 
The first Kassel Science Talk will take place on 16 October, 15:15 – 16:45h, in room 2101, Mönchebergstr. 3. The event is open to the public and will be filmed as well.
