Research Assistant (m/w/d), EG 13 TV-H - at the Section of International Agricultural Policy and Environmental Governance

This is a fixed term-position of five months. The aim of the section is to extend the position.

Tasks:

• Acquisition of third party funding together with the research team, and contribution to research in the Mediterranean region (Southern Europe, Northern Africa and Middle East) on Governance of agri-environmental relations (e.g. Nexus governance, polycentric governance, transition research), resource use or organic farming and sustainable food systems
• Literature analysis, development of research and teaching cooperation projects, development of networks in the target region
• teaching (3 time hours per week) in the subject area of International Agricultural Policy and Environmental Governance

Requirements:

• Successful course of academic study (Master degree and completed or almost completed Ph.D.) within a field related to International Agricultural Policy and Environmental Governance (Agricultural Sciences, Rural Studies, Economics, Political Sciences, Geography, etc.)
• Good knowledge of agricultural, environmental or natural resource economics and/or policy studies; institutional analysis and social-ecological systems research
• Very good knowledge of the English language required, knowledge of French, Arabic, Spanish, or Portuguese are of advantage
• Experience with acquisition of third party funding
• Ability to develop independent research

Advantageous are:

• Good knowledge of agricultural, environmental or natural resource economics and/or policy studies; European and international agricultural and environmental policies
• Interest in the field of „sustainable modes of food production“ or organic agriculture
• Experience with quantitative, qualitative, inter- and transdisciplinary research
