We are seeking two part-time Research Assistants with 65% of a full-time position (26h/week) to join the research DFG-Project “The relevance of family in social security entitlements. An international comparison”. The posts are fixed term for three years. The German Research Council (DFG) provides the funding for these posts. Candidates are being expected to concurrently work on their PhD (position for academic qualification (PhD) corresponding to § 65 HHG i. V. m. § 2 Abs. 2).

 

Tasks:

  • Conducting research in the above-mentioned project, including the systematic analyses of institutional differences in the allocation of resources, the identification of their redistributional effects, and the explanation of international differences.
  • Written and oral presentation of the results.
  • Assisting the organization of an expert workshop.

 

Requirements:

  • Master degree in Sociology or another relevant field within Social Sciences. The degree required for this position must have been obtained by the starting date at the latest.
  • Substantial knowledge of one of the following research areas:
    • International comparison of welfare states
    • Methods of social sciences
    • Institutional change and institutional theory
  • Very good knowledge of the English language required, native speaker desired; proficiency in German or another European language as an asset
