According to Section 64 (3) of the Higher Education Act of Hesse with a development commitment after a probationary period of 6 years to receive a permanent contract as a W 2 Professor.

 

The professorship is funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States.

 

The professorship is to offer methodology in the psychological study programmes of the university and cover the entire scope of methodological training. The future holder of the position should demonstrate proven, high didactic competence and commitment to teaching.

 

In terms of research, the professorship is to strengthen the research focus of the Institute of Psychology (Cognition, Education and Development; Dynamics of Human Behavior in Groups and Organizations; Clinical Psychology Diagnostics and Counseling) and the research focus of the University of Kassel “Empirical Educational Research”. Furthermore, research activities in at least one of the following areas are desired: (a) Machine Learning and BigData analyses, (b) Bayesian statistics, (c) causal inference, (d) intensive longitudinal data modelling. The research activity should be documented by publications in international peer-reviewed journals. In addition, experience in the acquisition of third-party funds and involvement in academic self-administration are desired.

 

The Institute of Psychology emphasizes transparent, reproducible and replicable research and supports open science practices. Applicants are asked to document how they have pursued and/or will pursue open science practices in the past and in the future.
