Trip: St. Martinskirche

Am 03.11.2020, um 17.00 Uhr würden wir gern mit einer kleinen Gruppe die neue Orgel St. Martin, ein Instrument der Superlative in der Martinskirche, besichtigen. Kirchenmusikdirektor Eckhard Manz stellt Ihnen in einer einstündigen Führung die Entstehung und die Technik der Orgel vor. Geschätzt 2000 Liter Luft strömen pro Minute durch die mit neun Metern höchste Pfeife. Früher bekamen Orgelbauer zum Lohn nämlich das Volumen der größten Pfeife in Wein ausgezahlt, heute zählt eher das Klangspektrum. Wir freuen uns darauf das Instrument zu sehen aber auch zu hören.

On 03.11.2020, at 17.00 o'clock we would like to visit with a small group of people the new Organ of St. Martin, an instrument of superlatives in the Martinskirche. Church music director Eckhard Manz will introduce you to the development and technology of the organ in an one-hour guided tour. Approximately 2000 liters of air per minute flow through the highest pipe, which measures nine meters. In the past, organ builders were paid by the volume of the largest pipe in wine, today it is rather the sound spectrum that counts. We are looking forward to not only see the instrument, but also hear it.
