Research assistant (EG 13 TV-H) - in the field of "Sociological Theory

The position is part of the DFG Research Training Group 2050 "Privacy and Trust for Mobile Users" and is limited to 18 months (§ 2 para. 2 WissZeitVG). An extension for a further 18 months will be sought (subject to project extension by the DFG).

Job profile:

The task is the independent scientific collaboration in the subproject B1 "Trust and Trust Assessment in Social Networks", combined with a project-related doctorate. This should deal with the dynamic relationship between mobility and social networking in the digital age and the resulting requirements for a socio-technical trust infrastructure.

Requirements profile:

Very good degree in social sciences, preferably in sociology, in particular very good knowledge of sociological theory; furthermore, previous knowledge in the fields of trust/privacy as well as mobility and socio-technical dynamics in the digital age. An interest in issues in the field of online social networks, a willingness to work in an interdisciplinary manner and the ability to communicate and work in a team are also required.

In addition to involvement in an interdisciplinary research training group, the position holder will have the opportunity to pursue a doctorate in the dynamic environment of the Department of Sociological Theory and the Scientific Center for Information Technology Design (ITeG) at the University of Kassel.
