Research Assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of History of Western Europe 18th-20th century

Part-time with 65% of the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is limited in time due to the project duration until 30.09.2022 as part of the project "Grenzen des Komischen - Satire und gesellschaftlicher Wandel in Deutschland und Frankreich am Beispiel der Zeitschriften Pardon/Titanic und Hara-Kiri/ Charlie Hebdo (1960-2017)" (§ 2 Abs. 2 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

• Scientific collaboration in the above-mentioned project
• The opportunity to do a doctorate in the above-mentioned project is given. An independent focus can be set within the project
• Development of an own concept for a dissertation on the topic "Limits of the comic - satire and social change in Germany and France using the example of the magazines Pardon/Titanic and Hara-Kiri/Charlie Hebdo (1960-1980)"
• Independent collection of findings on the limits of satire in the period from 1960 to around 1980 by analyzing relevant sources
• Participation in the further conceptual and organizational planning of the project
• Administrative tasks within the framework of the project

Requirements:

• Academic university degree in history or French Romance studies with a focus on regional studies, completed with at least good grades
• Very good knowledge of French
• Ability and willingness to work in a team within the framework of the project and to contribute your own ideas to the research process
• Willingness to travel for research

Advantageous:

• Previous knowledge of media and communication history as well as German and French contemporary history
• Thorough and independent working methods
• A high degree of organizational skills
• Ability to work in a team
