#KeineMachtdemHass draws attention to the fight against hate and hate speech online with a varied program. On today's International Press Freedom Day, Prof. Daniel Hornuff will be on the panel on the question "Are freedom of the press and freedom of opinion in danger?".

In its latest surveys, the European Center for Press and Media Freedom shows that the number of physical assaults on journalists reached a new negative record of 83 in 2021. On March 4, 2022, the Russian parliament passed a law that provides for long prison sentences and heavy fines for publishing "false news" about the Russian armed forces. News services and social media have been restricted or completely blocked in Russia.

On May 3, 2022, Minister of Justice Eva Kühne-Hörmann, partners of the #KeineMachtdmeHass cooperation and journalists will come together to answer exciting questions such as: Why are freedom of the press and freedom of expression so important in our democracy? Should the media be restricted or blocked? How can society and politics better protect media professionals?
