Research Assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the Department of Chemistry

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited to 3 years with the possibility of extension for a further 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in conjunction with § 2 para. 1 sentence 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

The responsibilities include services in research and teaching in the field of "Chemistry of Mesoscopic Systems" and include the independent execution of research work on the synthesis of organic molecular wires and studies on their interaction with nanoparticles, structured surfaces and light. Furthermore, the tasks include the participation in events of the nanostructure research center CINSaT, as well as the support of the department in the supervision of students in study programs of the department.

Requirements:

University degree in nanosciences (Master in Nanostructure Sciences/Nanosciences) with at least good grades and extensive practical experience in organic synthesis chemistry. Extensive experience in the preparation and characterization of molecular wires is a mandatory requirement as well as the confident application of modern chemical analytical methods (NMR, MS, UV/Vis, fluorescence, DLS). Computer skills (MS-Office, ChemDraw on Mac platform) are desirable, especially for carrying out web-based database searches; willingness and ability to work independently, good written and spoken English, experience in supervising students and instructing technical staff.
