Research Assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of femtosecond spectroscopy and ultrafast laser control

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited until the end of the project (31.12.2022) within the framework of the Excellence Initiative of the State of Hesse "SMolBits ("Scalable Molecular Quantum Bits") (§ 2 para. 2 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

• Scientific collaboration in the above-mentioned project, in particular conducting experiments with shaped femtosecond laser pulses for coherent electronic excitation of lanthanoid molecules in solution and evaluation of the data obtained.

Prerequisites:

• Completed scientific high school studies in physics or physical chemistry with very good grades
• Experience in setting up and carrying out physical experiments with lasers
• Experience with interfaces of measuring instruments with computer programs
• Fluent communication in written and spoken English

Advantageous are:

• Experience with femtosecond lasers, pulse shaping techniques, optical spectroscopy and coherent control
• Previous experience in scientific publishing and presenting at international conferences
• Thorough and independent working methods
• A high degree of organizational and teamwork skills
• Experience with programming languages such as LabView, Python, MatLab and C++
