The University of Kassel is a young university with around 25,000 students. It has an exceptionally broad profile with the competence fields of nature, technology, culture and society. Known as the University of Ideas and awarded a prize in the EXIST start-up culture competition of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology in 2013, it is characterized by the combination of knowledge from nature, technology, culture and society. Openness to forward-looking innovations and interdisciplinary networking between the individual departments is a matter of course. With our organization UniKasselTransfer, we have set ourselves the task of actively harnessing the knowledge and expertise of the university for society, initiating cooperation and collaborative partnerships and thus creating added value for both sides.

The position is initially limited until 30.09.2020 in accordance with § 14 para. 1 sentence 2 no. 3 TzBfG to replace an employee.

Tasks:

Incubator management:

• Motivation of potential start-up projects from the University of Kassel, in particular as part of the UNIKAT ideas competition
• Initial consultation of start-up projects from the University of Kassel
• Organization of events on business start-up issues
• Advising founders on the public funding programs EXIST start-up grant and EXIST research transfer

Network management:

• Entrepreneur Council of the UniKasselTransfer Incubator: maintenance and expansion of the network
• National and international institutions of start-up support: Cooperation and networking with institutions that pursue the goals of "promoting academic start-ups" (e.g. EXIST program of the BMWI) and maintaining contacts with representatives of business angel associations

Conceptual development of the UniKasselTransfer Incubator

• Acquisition of third-party funds for the further development of start-up support at the University of Kassel, in particular for the target groups "academic staff and graduates".
• Preparation of an application by the University of Kassel for the EXIST Potentials programme with a focus on internationalization/ Eastern Europe

Prerequisites:

• Completed scientific university degree
• Experience in the organization of events
• Knowledge of entrepreneurship, ideas competitions and networking
• Knowledge and experience in the various funding programs of the "EXIST - Start-ups from Science" program are desirable.
• Good verbal communication skills
• Openness, sociability and ability to work in a team
