Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of steel and composite construction

The position is initially limited to 20 months (§ 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG).

Tasks:

• Scientific collaboration in research for the project "Pagoda System for earthquake protection of slender structures". This project is a cooperation with the Institute of Engineering Mechanics (IEM), Beijing, China:

The task is to develop the control for these systems under seismic actions, to construct a test specimen for this purpose, which is to be tested on a shaking table at the IEM, and to carry out numerical simulations on structures where the application of the Pagoda System is possible.

Prerequisites:

• Completed scientific university degree in the field of civil engineering. The required degree must be available by the recruitment date at the latest.
• Testing experience, especially with hybrid simulation, especially for earthquakes
• Programming experience
• Knowledge of systems under seismic action
• Advanced knowledge of English
• Knowledge of the Chinese language
