Lecture series against right-wing extremism 2021/22:
Right-wing extremist politics in transition between parties and social movements. International perspectives

In memory of the racist murder of Halit Yozgat, which was committed by the right-wing extremist NSU in 2006 not far from the Holländischer Platz campus, the lecture series against right-wing extremism has been held annually at the University of Kassel since 2012 with changing topics. Last winter semester, the lecture focused on the topics of conspiracy ideologies and anti-Semitism in times of the coronavirus pandemic under the title "recht extrem? Wissen, Meinen, Glauben in der Krise", in the winter semester 2021/22 we would like to focus on the continued strengthening of right-wing structures in the field of political parties and social movements. In addition to the situation in Germany, we will also focus on developments in other countries.

On 7 February 2022, Prof. Dr. Ruth Wodak will give a lecture on the topic: "The shameless normalization of right-wing populism and right-wing extremism - counter-strategies?".
