Research Assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of History of Western Europe 18th to 20th century

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited to 3 years with the possibility of extension for a further 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in conjunction with § 2 para. 1 sentence 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

• Academic collaboration in research and teaching in the field of History of Western Europe 18th to 20th century
• Independent work on a sub-field of research in French history (doctorate)

Requirements:

• Academic university degree in history or Romance studies with a focus on French regional studies, completed with very good to good results
• Very good knowledge of French
• Willingness to do a doctorate

Advantageous are:

• Previous knowledge in the field of Western European, especially French contemporary history
• Thorough and independent working methods
• A high degree of organizational skills
• Experience in dealing with students (e.g. previous work as a tutor)
