STOP THE SILENCE! Day of action on the topic of sexualized violence

Sexualized violence is an issue in the university context - recognizing and acting: Together at the University of Kassel

Universities are not exempt from sexualized discrimination and violence. With the campaign "DAS SCHWEIGEN stoppen!", the University of Kassel wants to help make it possible to talk about sexualized discrimination and violence, sensitize everyone to the topic, carry out prevention and awareness-raising work and offer help in the event of assaults.

For employees and students of the University of Kassel, the Equal Opportunities Office is offering a day of action in the Campus Center on March 8, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Claudia Schredl, GESIS, will present the results of the UNIsafe study on gender-based violence in universities and research institutions. After the presentation, six parallel workshops will be held on digital sexualized discrimination and violence as well as on the basics and options for dealing with sexualized violence. There will also be a taster course on self-assertion and self-defense for women*.

Registration for the workshops is possible until February 27, stating the workshop at gleichstellung[at]uni-kassel[dot]de.
