Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - Department of Landscaping, Landscape Management and Vegetation Development

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited for 3 years with the possibility of extension for a further 2 years (qualification position according to § 2 para. 1 sentence 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

• Scientific collaboration in research and teaching in the field of landscaping, landscape management and vegetation development
• Support of ongoing research projects and application processing
• Organization of the department
• Independent preparation and implementation of courses
• Development of topics for teaching plant use, especially in projects and introductory courses
• Independent work on a research sub-area in plant use with a focus on the use of woody plants, especially in urban areas, taking into account the urban climate, climate change, site suitability and the maintenance of green spaces
• Supervision of horticultural work and maintenance and construction projects of the objects planned by the department

Requirements:

• University degree in landscape planning with good to very good results. The required degree must be available by the date of recruitment at the latest.

Advantageous are:

• Previous knowledge of plant use and landscaping, in particular very good knowledge of plants, experience with tree care and the management and supervision of green space maintenance measures

• Completed horticultural apprenticeship training
• Thorough and independent working methods
• A high level of organizational skills and a creative approach to the field of plant use
• Experience in dealing with vegetation and, in addition to the usual Office requirements, with CAD programs
