The Development Planning Department (with currently three units for development planning and one unit each for early career researchers and for strategic issues of personnel development and internationalization) advises the President's Office on all key issues relating to the strategic positioning and development of the university. It supports the Executive Board in systematically linking strategic development, planning processes, control procedures and resource allocation and provides the necessary analyses.
Your tasks:
As a University Development Officer, you will become familiar with the entire spectrum of structural, equipment, capacity and development planning for individual subjects. You will support the development of structural plans and contribute to the creation of strategic concepts for the further development of the university. Preparing decisions for the university management and supporting the implementation of development measures using suitable management tools will be just as much a part of your job as supporting central university committees. In the first few months of your employment, you will be accompanied and supported by systematic mentoring as you familiarize yourself with your area of responsibility. In addition, you will have the opportunity to observe other areas of the central university administration and can gain further qualifications for your work by participating in internal and external training events. If your development is positive and you have successfully gained further qualifications, your classification will be reviewed after two years in conjunction with the assumption of a development planning unit.
Your profile:
You have successfully completed your doctorate following a scientific university degree, may have already worked as a postdoc or outside a university and are in a career orientation phase. The position is also suitable for newcomers to science management following a doctorate or postdoc phase. Working in science management is an interesting opportunity for professional development. You are interested in current developments in the higher education and science system and the associated planning and management issues. You have a strong analytical mindset, can familiarize yourself quickly and thoroughly with new topics and have very good conceptual skills. You are also a team player, able to work under pressure, flexible and a strong communicator. Excellent written communication skills and a very good command of English are essential. If you have already gained initial experience in coordinating activities or in academic self-administration, this would be an advantage for the vacant position, as would a proven interest in scientific and technical issues. You should also be willing to gain further professional qualifications as part of your work by participating in relevant further training measures.
