Research Assistant (EG 13 TV-H) - Department of Technical Physics

The position is initially limited for 3 years with the possibility of extension for a further 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in conjunction with § 2 para. 1 sentence 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Your tasks

• Scientific collaboration in research and teaching in the field of technical physics
• Supporting the head of the department in formal and subject-specific matters relating to applications, project implementation and reporting
• Independent work on a research sub-area in the production, characterization and application of epitaxially produced low-dimensional III-V semiconductor heterostructures

Your requirements:

• University degree (Master) in physics with at least good results

• Experience in the field of molecular beam epitaxy of InP-based compound semiconductors for quantum dot lasers, as well as a general understanding of technological problems
• Experience with optical and structural characterization methods

• Ability to think analytically; independent, thorough and cooperative way of working
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English

Advantageous are:

• Experience of working in a clean room and processing semiconductor lasers
• Enjoyment of technological issues
• ability to work in a team
