Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of solid construction

The position is initially limited to 36 months as part of the project "Experimental investigations on earthquake-proof construction" (§ 2 para. 2 WissZeitVG). An extension will be sought.

Tasks:

The field of activity includes scientific services in research and teaching in the field of solid construction. This mainly involves working on experimental and theoretical research projects in the fields of earthquake-resistant construction with masonry and structures with ultra-high performance concrete. Involvement in specialist scientific and practical training rounds off the range of tasks.

Requirements:

• A university degree with at least good grades (Diploma II from the University of Kassel, TH, TU, MSc. or comparable foreign degree) in the field of civil engineering, specializing in structural engineering/solid construction is a basic requirement
• Basic knowledge and experience with modern numerical methods for the calculation of solid constructions is required
• Good English language skills are required (publication-safe)
• An independent, committed, thorough, cooperative way of working and very good written and spoken German language skills at native speaker level are expected

Advantageous are:

• Sound knowledge of testing in the field of solid construction
• Special knowledge in the field of structural dynamics and earthquake engineering
• Experience in engineering practice
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work to deadlines
