Working in development policy and cooperation

The profile of development policy and cooperation has changed in recent years: The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set ambitious targets for a comprehensive development agenda, not only in the Global South, but also in the North. In order to achieve the SDGs, a development-compliant design of international framework conditions is also necessary. The climate protection goals agreed in 2015 are also incorporated into the practice of development cooperation.

Against this background, the information event will provide an overview of the professional field of development cooperation and policy as well as various opportunities for students and graduates to enter this field. Information will also be provided on job opportunities in the field of applied development research and policy advice.

Speaker: Dr. Andreas Stamm is a research associate in the "Transformation of Economic and Social Systems" program at the German Development Institute (DIE)." From 2013 to 2015, he was on leave from DIE and worked as a program manager for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Ethiopia. He therefore also knows the inside view of development cooperation.
